We all enter marriage with a series of vows that say that we want to be with our chosen partner forever. While a tremendous concept, “forever†can lovingly be represented in the bands we gift one another during the wedding day.
For your wedding—and your forever love—you can choose from a number of brilliant symbols and design concepts built into many of today’s designer wedding bands that communicate the idea of forever in a creative way.
Below, we’ve chosen three categories of designs and suggestions of diamond-covered wedding bands available at the Okemos, Brighton, West Lansing, Jackson, and Portage showrooms of Medawar Jewelers that perfectly represent your forever love.
Wedding Band “Forever†Design: Looping Knots
(Pictured: Parade Charities Collection BD2894A-WRY and A. Jaffe Seasons of Love Collection WR0849-69)
A traditional symbol for eternity is the looping, interlocking knot. In the spirit of your eternal love, we’ve chosen two diamond wedding bands that play with that motif in two distinct ways.
The Parade Charities collection model BD2894A-WRY is a dazzling combination of 18-karat white, rose, and yellow golds, and the band has been designed in such a way that, while each strand is distinct, it’s impossible to tell where one ends and another begins. Plus, the 0.94 carat of diamond in this band adds a delicate sparkle to this mazelike piece of wearable art.
For a more straightforward symbol, we chose the 18-karat yellow gold A. Jaffe Seasons of Love model WR0849-69. In this beauty, it’s easy to see the traditional “infinity loop,†also called a “lemniscate†design. The prong-set diamonds in this band accentuate the three front-facing sections of this band’s infinity loop—which not only represents forever, but you, your spouse, and the ties of love that bind you forever.
Wedding Band “Forever†Design: The Eternity Band
(Pictured: A. Jaffe Metropolitan Collection WR0860-106 and CrownRing Rope Collection WB-019RD3R)
Speaking of eternity, could there be any better symbol than the eternity wedding band? Turning these bands always reflects the same design, no matter which side is facing up. And since the eternity band is such a versatile design, a bride can have both the symbol of her forever love and a look that suits her perfectly!
The model WR0860-106 from the A. Jaffe Metropolitan collection is a playful interpretation of the eternity band idea. Almost like the bubbles from a glass of champagne, this band puts a tremendous emphasis on the 1.06 carats of round-cut diamonds bezel-set in either 18-karat white gold, rose gold, yellow gold, or platinum.
For a play on a traditional band, the CrownRing Rope collection WB-019RD3R features a polished 18-karat rose gold band, hemmed on both sides by a dainty rope design. Pave-set diamonds circle the whole of this band and add a delicate sparkle to an already-dazzling band.
Wedding Band “Forever†Design: Past and the Present
(Pictured: Parade Hera Collection BD3089A and Kirk Kara Charlotte Collection K1390VD-B)
For a refined way to say “forever,†putting the past and present together speaks to the way time stretches out towards eternity. We chose two women’s wedding bands that harmoniously blend the vintage looks from the turn of the century with hyper-modern design.
The paisley design on the Parade Hera collection model BD3089A was the craze of the 19th century, and the pave set diamonds and 18-karat white gold are products of the 20th and 21st century. When placed together, they create a look that’s utterly timeless—what better way to remind yourself of a love that transcends the centuries?
The Kirk Kara Charlotte collection K1390VD-B plays with vintage chic—the milgrain pattern along the rim of this piece and delicate engraving along the sides of the band speak to that. But the dazzling pink sapphires that Kirk Kara uses in this band are a touch of feminine modernity that would bring out the blush in any bride’s cheeks. With choices in 18-karat white gold, as well as 18-karat yellow or rose gold, a bride-to-be can make this everlasting piece as vintage or modern as she likes!
